APQP Manager Global Industrial (all genders)

Giessen, Germany

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Quality Team regarding the execution of the Quality Strategy around the Mission, Vision and Strategic Initiatives for New Product Development (NPD) and focus on customer satisfaction at all times
  • Embed and maintain the Quality Model assigned into New Product Development, in accordance to the Industrial Milestone Process outlined by the Organizational Strategic Goals
  • Partner with Product Management & Engineering on specs definition, testing protocol and Design Qualification Test Plan
  • Ensure Quality Control Plans & Warranty Predictions are agreed with accountability throughout the project timeline inter-connected to Design, Compliance, Manufacturing, Reliability and Marketing deliverables
  • Provide quality analysis of existing products (through product history, customer feedback, warranty returns & service center details, lab test data, product safety & component SC review, risk analysis, establishment and execution of design & process FMEA, Control Plan)
  • Lead, coach and mentor direct/dotted line reports and cross-functional teams in alignment with the Quality Policy, Objectives & Strategy
  • Create network to share and stimulate Quality best practices and foster the Quality culture; leverage IATF16949 to drive continuous improvement
  • Lead post-launch audit, evaluation of Warranty Prediction, customer feedback, early warning, lessons learned, root cause analysis, corrective & preventive action process 8Ds/5Ys, deployment skills, closed-loop Quality control and validation

Required Capabilities & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree - preferably in Quality, Reliability, Manufacturing or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical & Materials Engineering)
  • 5+ years of experience in Automotive Quality environment
  • 1-3 years of successful Program / Project Management experience
  • NPD milestone process, or equivalent
  • Quality Tools: DMAIC, GR&R, Cpk, SPC, DFMEA, PFMEA, Risk Assessment, Situation Analysis, Benchmarking, ABC Analysis, CTQ Matrix, Customer Feedback Evaluations, Problem Solving 5Ys/8Ds
  • Familiar with different/customer-specific requirements from various Global OEM´s
  • Basic blueprint reading skills with thorough understanding of Control Plans, PFMEA’s and Process Flows, GR&R and capability requirements.
  • IATF16949 & VDA requirements
  • VAVE or DtV
  • Proficient in MS Office (365, Excel, Power Bi, Teams, PowerPoint, Project or equivalent)
  • Very good written & verbal communication skills in English and German
